Overview
Our client is seeking a part-qualified accountant to play a key role within a small, motivated finance team in a fast-growing business. You’ll partner closely with finance and the wider organisation to maintain effective financial control and deliver timely, accurate reporting. The role suits someone with a positive, can-do attitude who embraces change and helps drive improvements to systems and processes. Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of billing across professional services and recurring charges, including supporting enhancements to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and manage monthly debtor reports and participate in debtor meetings.
- Utilise Salesforce and Certinia to oversee financial operations, maintain accurate and current financial data, and review sales opportunities and projects for alignment with commercial agreements.
- Create and manage projects in Certinia; establish milestones to monitor progress and accurately recognise revenue.
- Export, review, and upload timecards to the appropriate Certinia projects, ensuring precise allocation against milestones.
- Reconcile accrued and deferred income to the trial balance.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Relationship Managers to promptly resolve financial discrepancies.
- Professionally address and resolve client queries and invoice disputes.
- Prepare and maintain an accurate daily cash-flow report.
- Take ownership of company card expenses.
- Manage bank journals and perform reconciliations across all bank accounts.
- Provide support to accounts payable processes as needed and support the Management Accountant with payable tasks.
- Support the finance team and wider business with the implementation of new systems and processes.
- Contribute to the annual audit process, ensuring smooth operations.
- Undertake ad-hoc finance-related duties as required.
Experience
- Professional approach with the ability to manipulate data and present financial information accurately and in a clear, concise manner.
- Experience in the Technology or related sector (advantage).
- Experience using the Salesforce platform (plus).
- Ability to work independently using own initiative or as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Numerate and analytical with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Enthusiasm, motivation, and a can do attitude.
- Drive to continually improve processes and management information.
- Fluent in English.
Qualifications
- Part-qualified accountant working towards a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, CA or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
